About the Interviewees
Michael H. Berkens, Esq. is co-founder and managing director at Right of the Dot, LLC, an Internet consulting and advisement firm specializing in new and existing TLD strategy, board advisement, premium domain and market positioning, sales and services.
Berkens founded Worldwide Media Inc. in 1997, which owns and manages an investment portfolio of more than 75,000 domains. In 1999, Worldwide Media launched its retail site, MostWantedDomains.com, which is responsible for tens of millions in domain sales among the business and domain community.
Berkens holds a law degree (JD) as well as an LLM degree in Taxation from the University of Florida. Since 2007, he has published a widely-read blog call TheDomains where thousands of posts that have generated well over 35,000 comments from close to 2 million visitors.
Monte Cahn is co-founder and president of Right of the Dot, LLC, an Internet consulting and advisement firm specializing in new and existing TLD strategy, board advisement, premium domain and market positioning, sales and services.
Cahn has been pioneering domain name and virtual property aftermarket services since 1995. He is founder and former president of Moniker.com and former president of SnapNames.com, which together made up the Aftermarket & Registrar division of Oversee.net, where he also managed more than 6 million domains and 117 ICANN accredited registrars.
Cahn helped start one of the first domain name brokerages in 1996, contributing to or leading the sales of more than $300 million, including the first domain name sale for over $1 million – Wallstreet.com – and the sale of Autos.com for $2 million.
Cahn is also Executive in Residence and Advisor to the Board of Domain Holdings.

Thanks for explaining the reason behind the three auctions! Would help many I’m sure to have some sort of flow chart, including the culling from first to second auctions, to avoid the possibility of disappointed attendees, whom were expecting the names at the live auction.
