DomainSherpa Review is the seminal show on the DomainSherpa Network where we get into the minds of successful domain name investors – who we call Sherpas – and talk about the value of domain names. By listening to the Sherpas, we expand our knowledge and understanding so that we can become more successful domain investors ourselves.
In this episode:
- The Sherpas kick off the show discussing domain trends and forecasts for 2023 and beyond;
- They also briefly discuss the emergence of ChatGPT;
- The Sherpas play The Domain Game (starting at the 48:22 mark), where they guess what certain domains were bought and sold for and discuss the reasons behind their evaluations. Today’s domains are Quantum.io, StoneAge.com, Depreciation.com, and Poser.com;
- They review a list of domains about to come up for auction on NameJet.com, including Screwball.com, Dollys.com, TentRental.com, & Carts.net;
- Plus, all DomainSherpa podcasts are now up on our YouTube channel at DS.tv, and much more!
JT is joined by Drew, Braden, & Jack Kal – so be sure to tune in!!

great show guys… @Jon, the aka’s always so good!
@drew time stamp 34:55 … spot on, it’s the only thing that ever concerned me as well, and I literally had that exact same conversation with chatgpt. heh
are we having fun yet?
Wonderful show and opening discussion.
While I enjoyed this cross over episode of Economics Sherpa and AI Sherpa Drew should stick with economics.
An interpretation can be objective, based on some measurable fact. Or subjective, based on one’s own mind, will, emotions, and experience. AI has none of those things to draw a subjective interpretation. It can only make an objective interpretation based on the data it was fed. And it’s good at that.The real power of AI is drawing correlations in large datasets that a human may or may not see themselves.
But you have to remember ChatGPT’s dataset was literally from crawling the internet. If the majority of people online said the sky is Red. When asked what color is the sky ChatGPT would interpret the answer as being red based on those online sources. It’s not like it has an original thought or opinion on something as you or I would. It’s literally just summarizing and regurgitating what it saw online.
When it comes to the future of domain names I would assume the people writing online about that are in some way connected to the domain industry so there’s going to be some implicit bias in that.
