A fascinating show for any startup or entrepreneur, today’s episode discusses a successful, profitable B2B company built in an emerging market, the cannabis market. Whether you have any interest in this particular vertical or not, they’ve taken a classic blueprint for startups in emerging markets and applied it brilliantly to this one. As the cannabis industry is now turning the corner as a serious and viable vertical, Ganjapreneur.com is years ahead of the curve!
Ganjapreneur.com CoFounders Andrew Rosener and Noel Abbott actually met because they were both subject matter experts who gave freely of their time right here on DomainSherpa! As an expert in marketing, Noel discovered the value of domain names in 2013, expanding from his first startup to his second. DomainSherpa producer Mike Cyger introduced Noel to global domain name expert Andrew Rosener, who is also a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. Together they cofounded Ganjapreneur.com and today are making solid profits in the space! We discuss:
- How they’re capitalizing off the fact that the cannabis industry is exclusively using digital media
- Why Trust is so significant in this industry and how much a Domain Name choice contributes to this
- A breakdown of each type of player in the cannabis industry and their varied marketing needs
- How a startup’s brand and brand consistency, starting with the domain name, impact the visualization of the company’s mission
- We hear the 2 cofounders talk through an estimated valuation and commit to a solid enterprise value that the Domain Name itself contributes to the business
Entrepreneurs and startups who plan to or dream of creating a business in an emerging market will benefit from today’s show! Plus, entrepreneurs who want to understand the value of domain names, and anyone interested in the business behind the cannabis industry, will also benefit from today’s show!

I listed to the whole show but it wasn’t very clear what their main business was. Is it a media publishing website that charges money for ads? Or is the main business selling domains?
i Have cbdforgym.com. but cant find buyer… liste in godaddy
What a Great and informative show. Thanks, Tess, Drew, & Noel! I just listed my 8th name on ganjapreneur
Great job Tess as always…
I really enjoyed the show and appreciate the shout-out for my brand Juanadomain.com. Tess thanks for asking the question on who owns it. I would also like to give a Big Thanks to both Drew and Noel for their help in bringing my vision of Juanadomain, LLC to fruition. I was introduced to Noel via Drew who I connected with through DomainSherpa.com. Drew and I had exchanged some emails and phone calls and upon his recommendation I reached out to Noel to build out my site. Like them, I have a large inventory of both key-word and brandable Cannabis Industry domains. Currently over 2000 in this niche alone. We both had the idea to add logos to our domains around the same time in an effort to dress up the domain and create the visualization of a Brand. Noel and HappyChap.co were instrumental in the creation and launch of my site. I would Highly recommend their services to anyone in need of web developement, SEO, SEM or anything in that space. I have done some recent updates using a local developer just because they were very busy at the time and the updates were time sensitive regarding updating my Trademarks.
I have great respect for both Drew and Noel and look forward to possible future endeavors. With that said, I would also like to give a big Shout-out to Michael Cyger and DomainSherpa.com for all they have done for the domain industry and connecting like-minded individuals. Drew and Tess have done a Great job stepping into the Big shoes Mike had started by carrying on the tradition.
Lastly I would just like to say what a Highly (pun intended) informative and enjoyable show the three of you put on this week. It was packed with strong insights into the cannabis and domain industries and anyone watching should benefit greatly from the knowledge you three have gained in your pursuit of excellence.
Many Thanks for your time and consideration,
John Magavern

Tess pat yourself on the back also for being an outstanding DomainSherpa host that Drew failed to mention at the end…
At the very end, Drew pat himself on the back for having an outstanding team at 2 of his businesses Ganjapreneur and MediaOptions and Tess was like hello…what about meeeee…helloooo…
So Tess, pat yourself on the back…you are the best!!!
Ha! Clearly an oversight! Thanks for pointing out the obvious Anunt!
