    The bus station discovered that Riyi Machinery, based in Zhangjiagang in
    Shanghai’s neighboring Jiangsu Province, had registered seven Chinese network
    domain names the bus station could have used – with different suffixes, such as
    .net, .cn, .com, .cc – in August 2006. In an attempt to win its domain name
    back, the bus station company contacted Mainone Information and Technology, a
    domain name supplier that helped Riyi register the seven domain names. Riyi
    Machinery demanded 72,000 yuan (US$11,300) to transfer the domain names to the
    bus station company, according to court records.
