    I’m really surprised no one saw that alp.com was offered for sale by Giuseppe Graziano (GGRG.COM) in his investor newsletter.
    He was offering it at 60k few months ago.. If my memory is correct.

    I really believe Drew was able to get a 5k discount and close.
    Great name, i really like it

    Andrew – ALP.com – Phenomenal. The pricing you spend on some of these awesome domains is almost sinful. :) That is gonna be another domain you sell for 200k+ in 6 months I bet. Then come back on here and have another “flip video” like your breakbread vid. Really love hearing all of the small details used in your style of buying and selling.

    Adam – It’s awesome seeing you back on the show. A true Domain Sherpa. Tons of killer knowledge you give us. Really appreciate it. At the point you were about to announce your BettingNews.com sale, I said to myself, 5k – 7.5k, I was way off. Congrats! Can’t wait to see Jen on here one day soon too!

    Shane, Your kangaroo.io buy for $300… I know nothing about dot io except for a couple sales I have seen in the past year. I am gonna have to start watching dot io more and see if they are picking up steam. Good luck with it!

    Ategy, it was cool seeing some of your names on here. As for your 25 names listed it sure looks like you did pretty well considering PlatinumWallet would pay for all 25 + another 100/200 more reg fee names in your portfolio. Pretty darn good considering only a year in domaining!

    As for remix.tv – I really like that one and believe that is at least a $1500 – 5k domain. Hopefully you sell it for 10k one day though.

    I noticed around the 65 minute mark that Drew mentioned what he would like to see more case studies and entrepreneurs that acquired a high-value domain engage in an interview or firechat to talk more about why they chose that high-value domain, how they plan to use it, what the factors were that went into the decision making process, and how they justified paying the price of the domain name. Further stating that such interviews would be an asset to the domain community.

    I have to agree that more interviews like those are needed in our industry to help new and seasoned investors understand what start-ups are looking for in a domain name.

    Hi Shane — You shared this advice recently… “Don’t keep putting money into domains. All investments need a bankroll. Pick yours and stick to it. Most domain investors are straight up addicted. They have to look at the list every day. They HAVE to buy. Anyone can buy. Selling is the hard part. Limit yourself if you’re not selling. Buy only when you’ve sold. Don’t add money until you’ve proven your model works.”

      Getting more and more followers of my curated list of expiring domains and of $5 closeout domains over there. One day way down the road I’m going to rival DSAD’s blog .. it certainly is a LOT of work and time. But as you might have noticed over the last few weeks, I’ve refined the process a bit added more data. Always a handful of diamonds amongst all the coal! lol .. It simply amazes me how much garbage expires each day that I wade through each night.

      That’s the problem sometimes .. you see some names that are absolutely fabulous in comparison to the garbage .. yet still not necessarily strong enough to get retail traction. The big plus for me is that I have very low acquisition costs. I could sell 1% of my portfolio a year and still be very profitable. I do have several names better than some of the ones in the review .. but those in the review are some of the ones I wanted feedback on.

      For example, I didn’t smoke weed (or anything else for that matter), but I’ve bought a few (1% of my portfolio) names in the niche because of legalisation and lots of potential new businesses coming on board. But I never saw what Drew saw in 420Medications, I originally saw the term as being equivalent to MarijuanaMedications .. but shorter and catchier. Still curious for feedback on ExpertCannabis and CosmicBakery (for edibles).

      Anyhow .. Glad you’re finding my daily lists helpful helpful! :)

      It was a number I felt that the sector of the market could justify. There’s obviously big money in gambling/betting. I had it priced around $30k on afternic for a short while.

    Very interesting point from Andrew on the case studies.

    In any other industry that is outbound lead-gen heavy, case studies are essentially going to be content by which your pitch lives or dies.

    Particularly when you’re talking to c-suite– these people really just want some idea of potential ROI and timescale on the returns on their assets– the asset itself isn’t really that important at that executive level.

    With that in mind, snapshots of results-focused hard data is always going to be the thing that sparks their interest and opens the door for the more in-depth discussion that makes a sale more likely.

    Very interesting point.

    These aren’t my best domains. My updated list had better quality names (also about $400 total cost, half were the same), but I accidentally sent it from another email, so my bad on that.

    In all fairness, I doubt think the feedback would have been different. I was expecting more Sherpa love for UndercoverSecurity, ExpertCannabis, ToolTycoon and WiredWardrobe.

    The other names included names such as InfluenceFactory, VeganPalate, PatriotPharma, RoseDiva, NovaCondos, PleaseContribute, SoundReputation, IdentScan (all com), Burgundy (dot co) and a few others.

    Hey gang .. thanks for the feedback on my portfolio!

    Just a couple of extra bits of info and background on me and the portfolio.

    Short version: Been domaining since later in 2016, and from about 6 months ago I started getting some decent sales and since I’m mainly using those sales for new acquisitions. So no new funds into domaining. I’m not getting rich (yet .. lol), but I’m not losing money. However .. I admittedly am still in the red for a while catching up from my first several months “domaining”. Total Acquisition cost of the entire Sherpa Review portfolio of all 25 domains above was under $400 TOTAL (no handregs).

    Longer Version
    I’ve had domains for many many years (I had a huge 30k+ member DJ / Club Music website around the turn of the Millennium), but only got more serious into domaining in the later part of 2016. And although I still have a long ways to go to make up for my initial buys, I have made four 4-figure domain sales (all public .. feel free to contact me for details) and one 4-figure portfolio sale. Several other smaller sales and regular wholesales when I’ve had time to be organised.

    I did have a couple of outside “life happenings” (aka crap) taking a lot of the time I was planning to spend on Domaining last year. So admittedly I’ve been quite disorganised, and more importantly been a “bad domainer” in that I didn’t have my domains listed in most market places. I’m slowly getting back control of my portfolio … but most certainly do agree and recommend to start a bit slower. It was extra messy for me as I let expire a lot of my older non-domaining domains that I held for years .. I obviously did keep some of the better ones like Diet (dot info).

    I have slowed down in buying considerably as I’ve been getting more experience. I used to grab 3-4 domains a day on average .. now it’s under 2 I’d say. But I’m also picker in terms of pricing and quality. With the since slowing down in about the last 6 months, I am slightly profitable (while also having built up my portfolio considerably as well obviously).

    I guess the other important thing to say is that none of these are actual HandReg’s .. they are all either Closeout or Auction. Shane is correct in assuming my acquisition prices. My TOTAL cost of ALL 25 domains was under $400 COMBINED.

    Also, while Drew commented on 4×220 .. the domain was 4×20. Although don’t think that would have changed his opinion .. lol. I’m not a smoker of anything .. and appreciate the feedback on the weed domains .. goes to show people should get what they know! I was thinking 4×20 (4 by 20) just as a fun short 4-character brand. Although honestly I actually thought the ones that would have been noticed more were ExpertCannabis and CosmicBakery (weed edibles are set to explode with legalisation expending).

    PayPerView is not a trademark (upon my quick check a while back) .. the .com is owned by WWE (and therefore not for sale, which makes me like my .org more).

    PlatinumWallet is also my top on the list. Drew’s pricing is pretty much exactly what I had in mind for it retail. I certainly wouldn’t consider selling it wholesale (sorry .. lol).

    Twonicorn and HoloDaze are 2 of my “personal” faves just because they’re fun and “clever” as Adam mentioned .. lol. They just seem to be 2 that I always remember amongst the others in my portfolio.

    BattleAging, 420Medications and RemoteInstruction were all final day closeout purchases ($5 each .. maybe even $4 after discount) .. so while I do agree with the feedback, I still think they are worth the risk/reward at $5! :)

    Two of my 4-figure sales were also closeouts.

    I know my strategy is different from most. But thanks to my vastly lower acquisition costs I don’t need to sell anything close to 1/20 .. based on my past sales I’d be profitable selling a little under 1% of my domains per year at retail.

    OK .. that’s all the details I can think of to give more context .. want to keep this comment “short”! lol
