This is the show where we get into the minds of successful domain name investors – people we call Sherpas – and talk about the value of specific domain names. By listening to the Sherpas, we expand our thought process so we can become more successful investors ourselves.
In this DomainSherpa Review:
- We learn what the Sherpas bought or sold recently: Extracts.com, Lucky.io & Partnership Purchase
- An investor’s portfolio is appraised: Submarine.io, SneakerJournal.com, CryptoTaxGuide.com…
- Get your bids in soon for these NameJet auctions: Broker.com, Baja.com, DomainNames.com…
- And much more!
We’re joined by three Domain Sherpas: Mike Carson, Shane Cultra, Andrew Rosener.

Extracts.com – too high, not comparable to the singular.
Thank you for another great, great show :) I have been watching Domain Sherpa since who knows when and have almost never missed an episode :)
.. yes, we are so used to you and have forgotten the importance of comments.
Thank you Tess for your amazing smile and great energy, Drew – for continuing to grow this project (I think it is in the very best hands possible), Shane – .. ohh.. you are just too cool :)
Mike, your story and business model is brilliant and inspires all of us :)
.. and if I may, huge thank you to A. Dicker – I understand that there have been issues and still > my LL .be portfolio is based on his advices.
.. so many Sherpas to say TX :) .. There hasn’t been a single not-cool and uber-interesting guest here since day 1. Thank you all :)
You guys connect the industry and develop this niche better than anybody!!
Best wishes and many great sales to everybody in this new year,
H
p.s. Please, please, please.. get back the King :)
Thanks, Tess, Drew, Shane, and Mike. Terrific show. And yes, a ‘what would you pay” segment in the show would be great. I especially liked the “what should I do” part of the show that Drew did.
Re: Extracts.com One thing I would like to have heard discussed is the Opportunity Cost of putting a domain on payments for 2 years. How do you think about the situation where another buyer comes along, potentially for a lot more money, when you’re obligated to complete the deal with the first buyer?
I think a “what would you pay for it” segment would be very useful for investors. Essentially it all boils down to buying and selling, so getting to see the exact thinking process behind acquisitions would be really helpful.
So just as an example: I would pay $____ for ____ because ….
Getting to see the exact price would help tremendously. For instance, just a random example — ChinaJobs.com sold for over $9,608 on NameJet this week. You could let the Sherpas say what they would pay and why, and then reveal the price afterwards.
By thinking what exact price the Sherpas would pay, it would force them to really focus on the small details and I think it’d be valuable to understand why they’d spend $1,000 versus $2,500/$5,000/$7,500/etc. on a specific acquisition.
Thank you Sherpas! great show as always.
Fantastic .io sale, well done Mike.
All the best wishes for the Sherpa Team
Great show and sounds like you have others planned very soon, Shane in Kenya, Mike Cyger at Namescon.
On another note, i thought Ali Zandi owned deadbolt.com at one time but i could be wrong.
Thanks again everyone.
