Hey Sherpa Network, I’m Michael Cyger, publisher of DomainSherpa and DNAcademy, and partner at Efty.

I want to give you a personal update about Efty, the leading domain name investing platform.

Back in January I told you about our awesome new gallery of for-sale landing pages that have been designed to optimize visitor-to-lead conversion.

Since then, we’ve helped hundreds of paid customers generate thousands of leads, and close a ton of deals. Just in the past 3 months, my Efty partner Doron has – himself – closed Efty-generated deals for Stagr.com at $3,750, SneakerHero.com for $3,450 and Gozer.com for $4,250, and I closed Staffing.io for $1,500 with an Efty for-sale landing page.

But I’m not telling you this to brag. I’m telling you this because I want you to know that we eat our own dog food, we use our own product, and we are making sales using Efty.

Today, I’m happy to tell you about an awesome NEW feature we’ve just launched that’s going to help you make even more sales: the newly redesigned Efty Marketplace.

Just like with our gallery of for-sale landing pages, we’ve launched a gallery of beautiful marketplace designs.

No need for you to signup for your own hosting account, setup your own website, worry about plugin conflicts or core updates that break functionality, cause CSS conflicts and the sort. We do it all for you and provide you with a beautiful marketplace to sell your domain names – all with no sales commission. Keep that extra 20 or 30% commission for yourself!

Our first two designs are named Borgen and Sands, and here’s what they look like.

When you sign into Efty, go to Settings, “Efty market” and scroll down to the “EFTY MARKET THEME” pull down. Just below, you can set your Google Analytics Tracking Code if you want to track your statistics. (There’s a link below this video that shows you how to setup Google Analytics for your account.)

You can upload your own logo, change the header text, write your own welcome message, select a royalty-free image to use, and – this is really cool – change the highlight colors of your marketplace to match your logo!

Those of you who love brandable domain names – you know, the ones you buy for around $10 and then sell for a buy-it-now price of around $2,000 or $3,000 – will be thrilled to learn that the new designs allow you to showcase your domain portfolio in both a table and tile view. And the tile view allows you to display your domains with logos directly in the search results and on the homepage.

As always, you can set a minimum offer amount and integrate buy-it-now buttons thanks to our integration with Escrow.com. And your inquiries, sales and data is your data, not ours. We’re not selling data, using your data to sell more domains or anything like that.

Please go check-out the new Efty Marketplace gallery for yourself. We offer a 30-day free trial, and – really – the Efty cost is so low that selling just one domain name using Efty will pay something like 20 years of Efty software fees.

E – f – t – y, Efty.com. It’s where professional domain name investors go to manage their investments. Please email us at [email protected] with any questions.

  1. Launched BrandGaggle.com on your market platform. Just four days later, I sold vrocity.com. Love the system.

    1. Congrats on the sale Bruce!

    2. Awesome site, Bruce — and congrats on the sale! Way to go!

  2. Alan Dodd says:

    Hey guys,

    Looks good.

    I’ve a few questions.

    1. Can I host this myself or is on efty.com only.

    2. Can I edit the CSS.

    3. Can I change the “checkout” to Godaddy/Afternic, or is it escrow.com only.

    Can you share:

    1. What is the average pages viewed per user.

    2. What is the bounce rate.

    Thanks!

    A

    1. Hi Alan, I hope life’s good over there in Dublin.

      1. No need to host this yourself as we take care of it. Just point the a-records of your domain name to us and your up and running. We host in the cloud with Softlayer so it’s fast and reliable.
      2. You can’t edit the CSS at this point.
      3. It’s Escrow.com only for now.

The average page views so far since we’re live with the new themes is 2.71 pages per session and a bounce rate of 54.48%

Drop me an email at [email protected] if you have any other questions or comments.

      1. Alan Dodd says:

        Doron,

Thanks for that info, very good stats, and things are good in Dublin thanks!

        I’ve just one further question.

Is there anyway you can set a price that needs to be approved before the escrow starts?

A bit like the “listing” price at Sedo.

The issue is: so you have a name priced at Godaddy and then on Efty. There can only be one offer/acceptance at a time or else you could be leaving yourself open.

Is it better to go make offer on Efty if a name is fixed price elsewhere?

        Alan

        1. The way our Escrow.com BIN integration works is that after filling in the BIN form both the buyer and the seller have to log in to Escrow.com to complete the transaction. The seller (you) needs to approve the transaction first so this will prevent you from a situation in which you sell the same name to different buyers at the same time.

Personally I prefer and have had great success listing my names as Make Offer instead of with a BIN

  3. First let me say I am using the new format and it kicks ass. Here is the biggest benefit to all of it. Each domain gets indexed in search. Checkout https://www.google.com/#safe=off&q=Namerockstar.com to see what I mean. I still have to optimize everyone of my 900 names but man this function is the best format I have seen in twenty years.

    1. Awesome, Bruce.

I have a background in SEO, so we’ll be making sure all the right signals are being sent to search engines as well.

Thanks for pointing it out. Can’t wait to watch your marketplace grow and succeed!

  4. Xavier Lemay says:

    Wow great!

I was just looking for something like this for my brandables

    Good work!

*just hand reg a variation of stagr that just expired :)

    1. Great to hear, Xavier!

Let me know if you need any assistance with anything when you’re setting up your store. And come back here and post a link to it, please! I want to see it.

  5. I have an efty account but I have questions. If the main domain for this is let’s say webovi.com. What NS do I point too? Once I change NS, do I then add the A record? It would be helpful if you had an instructional page on efty.com with screen print for anyone to know how to set this up.

    1. Hi Bruce,

I see the issue you’re experiencing. It’s still showing the old design.

      Try this:
      https://www.efty.com/app/settings/eftymarket/

Then scroll down to the EFTY MARKET THEME pulldown and select the Borgen option.

Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click SAVE.

[Update] I think I see the issue. We have sunset the ability to use a vanity URL through Efty (using a URL like http://www.efty.com/market/profile/your-profile-name/). You now have to specify a custom domain for use. Then after you do that, you do this:
      1. Log in to the registrar where your domain is hosted
      2. Point the A-record of your custom domain to 5.153.42.104

      That should do it.

      Best,
      Michael

  6. Jessica Domains says:

    This looks so cool!

    1. Thanks, Jessica. We appreciate your support. :)

  7. darius says:

Gave it a try and it’s a solid experience so far, good job for capturing and populating the domains and the financial dashboard looks very interesting. will continue to see how the new themes work.

  8. kiras kapoor says:

Thanks Michael for the insight and all the best in your endeavour.

I am pretty new to this brandable thing, but let me get this straight. Is it like we will be putting a landing page to our individual domains,or is it like BB where our domains are shown up on your website or we list all of our domains as a list on all our domains??

    1. Efty offers custom For-Sale landing pages for all your domains plus you can create your own marketplace where you can list all your domains for sale at one central place. So to answer your question – you will get both.

    2. Hi Kiras,

Just like Doron said, you get both individual domain name landing pages and a marketplace where you can direct users from your business card, NamePros signature, etc.

Any other questions, please let me know.

      Best,
      Michael

  9. Sinisha says:

    Hey Mike

First of all, thank you for being part of efty, i am pretty sure that lots of useful features that efty uses is down to your input, so thanks again for making our domaining lives easier. I also wanted to give a shout to Doron who is a fantastic customer support, thanks to him i had the best experience in my “life” of dealing with a tech. side customer support, which is one of the best feature that Efty offers, Doron thank you for everything you did to help me out the other day.
ps. the market place for the online store looks fantastic, i am delighted with my, thank you guys

    1. Thank you for the kind words Sinisha.

    2. Great to hear, Sinisha. Thanks for taking a moment to post a comment.

And your site at http://www.dn.life looks fantastic!

  10. Varun says:

I have been wanting to start a Market Place for some 700 Domains i own, But i am not able to figure out how & should it be HTML or a full site and tons of other questions.

After seeing the video i am surely impressed with what Efty is providing but it doesnt serve my end to end requirement i feel.

    1. Hi Varun, I suggest you sign up for a free trial and give it try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by all the features Efty already offers.

    2. Thanks, Varun. We’re here to support you every step of the way too!

Please email [email protected] with any questions.

      1. Michael,

Can you please recommend someone who can set my efty account up like thedomainstore? I made changes but they will not reflect on my current site. I emailed support but I know they are a sleep right now.

        http://www.efty.com/market/profile/namelisters/

My changes even updated don’t reflect in the browser even after clearing history nd reloading cookies.

        1. Hi Bruce, as Mike already pointed out the new themes only work on custom domains. Once you have custom domain setup it’s easy as 123. No need to hire anyone!
