Also known as domain name transfer. A domain transfer is the process of changing the designated registrar of a domain name.

A domain transfer usually occurs for a variety of reasons, including:
1. Sale of a domain name from one party to another
2. Moving a domain name to another registrar with lower prices
3. Moving a domain name to another registrar with preferred services
